Safeguarding our rivers for future generations

Kyle of Sutherland Fisheries is advertising for a seasonal assistant biologist. This is an entry level position which would suit a graduate looking to gain experience of freshwater fishery management. We are looking for a well-motivated, fit, hard working individual to assist with a number of activities Kyle Fisheries undertakes. This includes electrofishing, data analysis, monitoring our temperature network, delivering an education programme, habitat mapping, scale reading, as well as other ad hoc matters when they arise. This is an opportunity for someone early on in their career to gain valuable experience and to be introduced to the Scottish freshwater fisheries sector.

This is a full time (40 hours per week), fixed term post would suit a recent graduate or student who is expected to graduate this summer, with a conservation, fisheries or ecology degree. This post is based at our office in Ardgay but will cover the entire Kyle of Sutherland District. A driving license is beneficial but not a prerequisite. Previous work experience is not required, but a passion for fishing or conservation is essential!
