Safeguarding our rivers for future generations

Moray Firth Trout Initiative

The trout is a key part of Scotlands natural heritage and is a very valuable species to communities around the Moray Firth. However, catches of sea trout are known to be declining while the status of other wild trout stocks is poorly understood. The MFTI is a partnership project that worked with local Fisheries Trusts, Boards and Angling Associations to protect trout through environmental education and conservation of local trout populations and their habitat.
